Day 1 (Botanical Gardens) |
|
|
You will be picked from your Hotel after breakfast, and depart for Entebbe botanical gardens. We will have a couple of stops along the way when we sight some of the unique and amazing African species.
At Botanical gardens, we are likely to see Verreaux’s Eagle Owls just at the entrance. We shall also see in these Gardens Guereza colobus and Vervet monkeys.
Birds to watch out for here include; the African fish eagle, Eastern Grey- Plantain Eater, Orange-Tufted and Red- Chested Sun birds, Orange Weaver, Black- Tailed Godwit, Slender billed weaver, Brown Throated Weaver, Jacksons Golden- backed Weaver, yellow backed weaver, Grey headed gull, Long- tailed Cormorant, common squollo heron, Yellow billed duck, Kingfishers, Swamp fly catcher. Broad billed roller, Black and white Casqued hornbill, Splendid Starling, Black headed Gonelek Ross’s Turaco, Pied Hornbill and many other species.

Day 2 (Mabamba swamp) |

|
Today, we drive west of Kampala to Mabamba swamp. Along the way we shall look out for white winged Warblers, Papyrus Gonolek, Yellow Backed Weaver, Northern Brown throated weaver, Blue headed Coucal. We shall then break off for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue our search for the rare shoe bill stork, Swamp fly Catcher, Purple Swamp Hen, African Water Rail, Common Moorhen, Lesser Jacana, African Jacana, African Pygmy Goose, White faced whistling Duck, Squacoo Heron, Blue- Breasted Bee- eater, Winding Cisticola, Goliath heron, Black Crake and others.
Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. |

Day 3 (Mabira Forest) |
|
|
After breakfast, we depart the hotel for a scenic 2 hours drive to an African jungle the Mabira forest known to have one of the oldest trees in Uganda. Here we will look out for specialties like the Purple Throated Cuckoo- shrike, Nahan’s Francolin, Forest wood Pecker, Green tailed Bristle bill, Joyful Green bull, Grey long bill, Boubou, This African jungle is the only place in Uganda you are likely to see the Tit hylia.

Day 4 (Lake Mburo National Parkk) |
|
|
On this day, we shall pick you from the hotel and embark on a 4 hours drive southwestwards to Mburo national park. A brief stop over at the Equator, for photography and buying of souvenirs. We then proceed to Lake Mburo. Here we look out for species like Red- Faced Barbet, Spot Flanked Barbet, Hammer Kop, Goliath Heron, Rufous –bellied Heron, African Hoope, African Jacana, Woodland Kingfisher. Break off for lunch. After lunch we embark on a late afternoon game drive where we shall see many species like the Coqui Francolin, Black bellied Bustard, African Wattled Plover and Flappet Lark. Of course you will see mammals like Zebras, Impalas, buffaloes, Topis and Elands.

Day 5 (Lake Mburo National Park) |
|
|
After breakfast we go for an early morning game drive along the Lake side track. Here we have access to the aquatic habitants around the Lake. We watch out for Lesser and Greater Swamp Warbler, African Fin Foot, Saddle billed Stork, and the rare Shoe bill Stork. After lunch, go for a boat trip still in search for papyrus species. Key species to look out for include; Brown chested plover, Southern ground hornbill, Spot flanked, Red tailed and Black collared Barbets, White winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Yellow-billed Ox pecker, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Caruthers Cisticola and of course many others

Day 6(Lake Mburo-Queen Elizabeth National park) |
|
|
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth national park with brief stops along the way for other species of interest. With over 600 recorded bird species, this park makes it awesome beautiful for the bird lovers. After lunch, have a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel a narrow neck of water connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. This is the best opportunity for scenic photography of the vast number of shore birds and mammal life. Species we are likely to encounter include the African Skimmer, Striated Heron, African water thick- knee, Marsh Sandpiper, Plain Martin, African spoon Hill, African Crake, Wood Sandpiper, Lesser Swamp Warbler, Collared Planticoles and Yellow billed ox pecker.

Day7 (Queen Elizabeth National park) |
|
|
Have an early bird walk safari to yet another African jungle, Maramagambo forest for the forest birds. Here we look out for Brown –eared wood pecker, Bat Hawks, Fawn Breasted Waxbill, Sulphur Breasted Bush Shrike, Dark capped Yellow Warbler, Red Headed Blue Bill, African Fin Foot, And Eurasian Golden Oriole. We may also be able to see the Black and White Colobus Monkey if Lucky.

Day8 (Kampala) |
|
|
After a rewarding nights sleep only to be woken by the sweet melodies of the singing birds, have late breakfast and drive leisurely back to Kampala. |
